975 MEMORIAL DRIVE RENOVATION

Location: Cambridge, MA

Completed: Spring 2017

Photography: Shelly Harrison Photography

The renovation of a 1,100SF condominium added a second bathroom, replaced the mechanical systems, and reshaped the existing kitchen to allow for a more generous view of the adjacent Charles River.  The design required substantial coordination with chases and other systems in the existing complex, and the construction process successfully navigated the many logistical challenges of a renovation project in a large building. The design for the project utilizes a simple material palette to add warmth to the space, while providing a refined modern aesthetic that embraces the principles of Feng Shui.  Punches of color are then utilized to provide contrast at the bathroom vanities and the display niches, which are located in parts of the unit that have less access to natural light.
