The design for this 4 bedroom single family home attempts to maximize light and views from the interior spaces, while working with simple and affordable materials to keep the construction budget down to $101 per square foot.  An open steel and wood stair forms the center of the scheme, allowing light into the central core of the house, while providing axial views towards the front and back yards. The simple material palette is accented with concrete, steel and clear-finish maple at the interior spaces, while the exterior volume uses board and batten cladding to differientiate the central circulation space from the clapboard-clad living spaces.
